#AgriLeadershipWeek takes place this week (17-21st May) to promote the personal development and leadership opportunities available within the food and farming industry.

A collaboration between several organisations including Nuffield Farming Scholarships, AHDB, IAGRM, The Farmers Club Charitable Trust and the Worshipful Company of Farmers, whom all offer a variety of courses and opportunities to help further career progression.

Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to take part in professional development, travelling abroad to conferences and events as well as public speaking opportunities. These include attending the Royal Agricultural Society of the Commonwealth congress in Brisbane Australia, representing the Oxford Farming Conference at AgriTechnica in Hannover, Germany and securing a place on the 2016 Worshipful Company of Farmers Leadership Development programme.

For me, it’s been hugely important to engage with these organisations to help promote their aims, objectives and support their activities. Moreover, these organisations provide the opportunity to network, learn, promote our industry and inspire others to get involved too.

So what does Agri Leadership mean to me?

  • The opportunity to be an ambassador
  • Support good causes
  • Set a good example
  • Champion initiatives and inspire others to engage and become involved
  • Learning and development opportunity
  • Instigate change
  • Create the next generation of managers / leaders

Let me know what AgriLeadership means to you…
