During my year as NFYFC Chairman of Council I founded a rural road safety campaign called Drive it Home. Having lost a 17-year-old young farmer friend in a road traffic accident when I was 17, I wanted to instigate change within the young farmers movement to educate and train members on how to stay safe when driving on rural roads. Ultimately I wanted to change attitudes and save lives.
